63 Research Results Worthy of Application
The Head of LRI UMY, Professor Dyah Mutiarin, explained that the research results were disseminated to disseminate the results that UMY lecturers and students had carried out.
The research conducted by UMY lecturers and students highlights several issues in Indonesia by looking at the reality of problems in the field and existing theories.

LRI UMY also collaborates with several stakeholders to perfect the research, including the DIY Regional Government, district/city governments in DIY, and several ministries. The community can also apply the research results because some research is carried out by examining conditions in the community.

One Data
On the agenda, Professor Dyah presented the research results entitled Design of Employment Data Interoperability in Supporting One Employment Data at the Ministry and Local Government Level. From the research, she emphasized that collaboration and coordination must be continuously improved to ensure alignment in the management of employment data so that One Employment Data becomes a reliable and integrated system that supports data-based decision-making at the regional and national levels—the Head of the UMY Proposing Team, RR.
Sabtanti Harimurti made Simplex Lattice Design research for Crosslink Optimization of Amyloseamylopectin and Alginate as an Alternative Capsule Shell. In the research, a capsule shell was made using ingredients such as soybean starch, alginate, glycerin, CaCl2, and distilled water.
“Each ingredient has its role. Starch is a glucose homopolymer with glycosidic bonds composed of two fractions, amylopectin and amylose. Amylopectin has granular properties that expand and good binding power, so it has the potential to be utilized as a raw material for making capsule shells to replace gelatin,” he said.
During the event, there was also a Seminar on Capacity Building for Leadership in Regional Government in Indonesia titled Leadership in Times of Crisis in Yogyakarta Regional Government.
Communication Style
The event’s speaker, UMY Government Science lecturer Erni Zuhriyati, said the COVID-19 pandemic impacted various sectors. DIY suffered losses in the tourism sector of IDR 67.04 billion in April 2020, a decrease in MSME income of 80%, and 1,465 workers were laid off.
Even so, the DIY Regional Government has overcome this impact with various existing policies through synergy with various parties to develop the creative economy and ICT technology innovation, including supporting its financing through corporate social fund programs.
Another speaker, Assistant for Economic and Development Affairs of the DIY Regional Secretariat, Tri Saktiyana, explained that the right communication style in disseminating information about the pandemic is the key to leadership during COVID-19. Regional leaders in the DIY Regional Government must be able to communicate information correctly without making the public restless.
