Advancing Academic Publishing: ULM Press Conducts Comparative Study at LRI UMY

Yogyakarta (7/11) – Lambung Mangkurat Press University visited LRI UMY on November 7, 2024, at Meeting Room 1 LRI UMY in the context of a comparative study of journal management. The visit led by Dr. Iskandar, M. Kes., S.pA editor in chief of the Indonesian Public Health Publication Journal, brought five members of the journal management team. Then welcomed by the Head of Publication and Journal Strengthening Division Dr. drh., Tri Wulandari Kesetyaningsih, M.Kes, along with Prof. Dr. Sri Nabawiyati Nurul Makiyah, S.Si., M.Kes managing editor of Mutiara Medika: Journal of Medicine and Health and 3 Journal Managers.

In welcoming remarks during the comparative study visit, Tri Wulandari Kesetyaningsih conveyed the LRI profile, from organizational structure and journal management to journal achievements at UMY. Then, Iskandar conveyed the purpose and objectives of his visit. Tri Wulandari Kesetyaningsih explained information on the accomplishments of journals in the UMY environment, including three journals indexed by Scopus, the remaining 38 journals are nationally accredited ranging from SINTA 2, 3, 4, and 5. Journal management in the UMY environment is strengthened by the availability of a journal manager to bridge the gap between the editor-in-chief and the author/reviewer, as well as proofreading services by the Academic Writing Staff team. Structured activities are also carried out to assist journals in advancing Scopus indexation. In addition, there is a stimulus in the form of assistance for journal management costs and incentives for journal accreditation achievements. Sri Nabawiyati Nurul Makiyah provided tips on processing articles into quality articles, finding international authors and reviewers, and increasing journal citations.
