Global Engagement, Research, and Discovery of UMY in the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023

With the rapid changes in higher education, the reputation of universities in the Asia Pacific is steadily growing and gaining more global attention. UMY as a higher education institution looks ahead to tackling new and unprecedented challenges in the sector.

In this QS Summit UMY learns how to design the attributes of successful and reputable universities of UMY in the Asia Pacific, and how to differ beyond the region, institutions measure success and the needs to be adapted to bring about inclusive and sustainable outcomes, and to formulate the universities plan for success during times of uncertainty and disruption.

By knowing this global engagement, research, and discovery, UMY is sending 3 strategic units consisting of LRI, BPP, and LKI to attend the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre  Malaysia, from 6  to 9 November 2023.

LRI is represented by the Head of Research and Innovation Institute Prof Dr. Dyah Mutiarin and the Head of Publication Division Dr. drh. Tri Wulandari Kesetyaningsih. While BPP is represented by Slamet Riyadi Ph.D., Shanti Wardaningsih, Ns., M.Kep.,Sp.Jiwa.,Ph.D and Dr. Mega Hidayati, M.A. LKI is represented by dr. Maria Ulfa, MMR., Ph.D.

This UMY Team seeks international cooperation to be planned for next year’s activity in the form of research, publication, and student exchange, as well as staff exchange.

Moreover, Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin emphasizes that UMY in this QS Summit is aware of the essential of the networks of university-industry-government relations that can be considered as mutual economic arrangements that can help in creating a sustainable environment for innovation and economy. In the context of rapid industrial evolution demands and worldwide competition, the relationship between the triple sector needs to be challenged.  To better adapt, As the conclusion from the QS Higher Ed Summit,  UMY as a higher education institution needs to pay attention to strengthening the connection and networking between university and industry through research and innovation as well as talent alumni pool, and community engagement.
