Yogyakarta (12/2) – The Research and Innovation Institute (LRI) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) has implemented routine Internal Quality Audit (AMI) activities to monitor various programs and achievements that have been achieved. AMI also serves to assess the extent to which targets are successfully obtained and can be used as a baseline for evaluating the annual performance of an institution.

The AMI was held on Monday (12/2) in Meeting Room 2 of the Dasron Hamid Research and Innovation Center (RIC) Building. This activity was attended by the Head of Research and Innovation Institute UMY Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, S.IP., M.Si., Head of Research Strengthening Division apt. Sabtanti Harimurti, M.Si., Ph.D., Head of the Division of Strengthening Publications and Journals Tri Wulandari Kesetyaningsih, Dr. Drh., M.Kes. and Head of the Research Resources Division Pinta Astuti, Dr. Eng., S.T., M.Eng. The Head of the Institute began the AMI activity by explaining the direction of the vision and mission of the Research and Innovation Institute which was derived from the direction of the policies that had been achieved by each division as a whole.

The auditors in charge of AMI to evaluate LRI earlier this year were Dr. Firman Pribadi, M.Si., and Dr. Ir. Nur Rahmawati, M.P. So far, the auditors have positively assessed all the achievements made by the Research and Innovation Institute. The various achievements achieved were certainly achieved as a result of the smart work of all divisions driven by the infinite enthusiasm of the Institute’s leadership.

“The various achievements that have been achieved by LRI are of course complete work together, the heads of divisions who always help supported by reliable staff. But in the future, the acceleration of each program and activity of each division needs to be improved to be able to transform even better.” Explained Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, S.IP., M.Si.

Demands for the development of research and innovation that are increasingly dynamic always arise so it is not only limited to achieving targets that must be achieved. In the future, LRI will have to transform into an institution that is leading in the management of research and innovation as well as scientific-based resources.  It is hoped that universities like UMY are considered to have the capability to continue to progress and produce superior quality, useful, and competitive innovations.

Therefore, LRI UMY continues to encourage and provide facilities for lecturers and researchers within the University Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta to be able to strengthen existing research results and innovations and develop laboratories that have begun to be planned.

In particular, the development of innovation is closely related to the research implemented. The outcome of the research of lecturers and researchers at UMY is the development of science, innovation, and the goodness of the ummah. Therefore, the research strengthening division in charge of strengthening research has a big responsibility in carrying out this mandate. Through this Internal Quality Audit, the targets that have been determined can become a benchmark for performance measures that are aligned with the needs of lecturers at UMY.

“The AMI activity has been carried out well and we would like to express our gratitude to the Auditors who have attended this opportunity and thanks also to the entire team who helped make this activity a success. Through AMI, we hope that in the future we can move more tactically and quickly to accelerate the improvement of the quality of research, innovation, and resources based on the principles of science.” continued Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, S.IP., M.Si.
