BANTUL – The Board of the Government Science Study Program Association (Kapsipi) for the period 2024-2027 was officially inaugurated on Thursday (17/10/2024) in the Main Conference Room AR A 5th Floor, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY).

Meanwhile, the inauguration of the Kaspipi management and task force was carried out directly by Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, S.IP., M.Si. Professor of government science at UMY who is also the chairman of Kapsipi for the 2024-2027 period.

Arin – the nickname of Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, S.IP., M.Si was previously elected at the IV Kapsipi Congress and ADIPSI (Association of Government Science Lecturers throughout Indonesia) in Samarinda on August 31-September 1, 2024. Arin, replaces Prof. Dr. Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc, Professor from UMY who has led Kapsipi since 2022-2024.

“We realize that in the future there will be many challenges that we will face. Among them are improving the quality of study programs by using an internal quality assurance system (SPMI) and an external quality assurance system (SPME),” he said.

In addition, he continued, there are other challenges faced by Kapsipi in the future, namely improvements related to the outcome-based (OBE) curriculum. Where the curriculum can achieve graduate learning outcomes. So that graduates have the competencies expected by the study program.

“So that if the competence is not absorbed by the labor market there is something wrong, we have to improve the employability,” said Arin.

According to Arin, currently, the toughest challenge for Kapsipi is improving the quality of study programs. There are 116 study programs in Indonesia, and only 10 percent of them have superior accreditation. “So we hope that all universities and study programs will be able to improve their accreditation. Where nationally it can increase its accreditation to superior,” explained Arin.

Asked about the obstacles faced to achieve all study programs having superior accreditation, Arin stated there are several things One of them is the uneven contribution of each board.

“Another obstacle is that so far we have not increased cooperation with external parties for government science. Both central and regional governments, as well as business, industry, and academia. This is another obstacle,” said Arin.

To overcome these obstacles, Arin admitted that he had prepared several accelerations. One of them is by creating a task force of 15 task forces under Kapsipi containing all lecturers and study program managers throughout Indonesia. “We also include accessors. We are also trying to form technical assistance to form professional institutions under Kapsipi. And this has to do with curriculum and competence,” said Arin.

In addition, Arin admitted that he would increase cooperation for national and international rankings, with QS (Quacquarelli Symonds)-200. This is because the target of Kapsipi is QS 1-200, which has long been the target for cooperation in the next three years.

“Kapsipi will also work with Adipsi. We will coordinate with work programs and budget resources and human resources,” said Arin.
