Yogyakarta (1/12) – Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta received a visit from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in the context of socializing the latest research schemes. The visit was attended by the Head of the Research and Innovation Institute, Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, S.IP., M.Sc., and the Head of Research Strengthening Division apt. Sabtanti Harimurti, Ph.D., along with staff. At the same time, the visit was also attended by representatives from the Indonesia Endowment Fund (LPDP) of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkeu RI).

They visited on Wednesday (29/11) at the Dasron Hamid Research and Innovation Center Building, UMY. BRIN and LPDP’s visit aimed to discuss several interesting research potentials carried out by UMY lecturers for further development. Apart from that, it also aims to explore talent scouting for several lecturers who have innovative and crucial research areas.

The head of LRI UMY, Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, showed gratitude for the visit of LPDP and BRIN. She really hopes that in the future, there will be continued collaboration to improve the quality of research at UMY.

“We certainly feel very grateful to BRIN and LPDP colleagues who monitor the progress of our research. It encourages us to develop. However, on the other hand, we also realize that lecturers’ participation in competing for external research grants still needs to be increased. Hopefully, as time goes by, the orientation of lecturers or researchers to compete for external research grants, especially at RIIM BRIN or Rispro LPDP, will increase,” she concluded.

Current research developments focus on useful innovations for society. Innovative research cannot be separated from collaborations created either with practitioners or industry. Therefore, it is hoped that lecturers/grantees who take part in external research grants such as RIIM BRIN or Rispro LPDP will be able to provide sustainable innovation.
