Yogyakarta (8/3) – Research and Innovation Institute of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta received a working visit from the Manager of the Politica Journal, Center for Parliamentary Analysis of the Expertise Agency of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia. This activity was held on Friday (8/3) in Meeting Room 2 of Dasron Hamid Research and Innovation Center Building of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.

In this activity, Mrs. Tri Wulandari Kesetyaningsih, Dr. Drh., M.Kes. as the head of the Publication and Journal Strengthening Division, Arie Kusuma Paksi, Ph.D. as Editor in Chief of the UMY International Relations Journal, Qholiva Yuni Fadilla, M.A. and Wahyu Budi Nugroho, M.Pd. as Journal Managers. The visit of Jurnal Politica this time was represented by several managers of the scientific journal including Drs. Simela Victor Muhammad, M.Si., Rizki Roza, S.IP., M.Si, Dewi Sendhikasari Dharmaningtias, S.IP., MPA., Debora Sanur Lindawaty, S.Sos., M.Si. Sita Hidriyah, S.Pd., M.Si., and several other managers.

During the meeting, the managers of the Politica Journal and the UMY International Relations Journal discussed various aspects related to the management and publication of scientific journals, including the peer review process, publishing standards, and efforts to improve the quality of scientific publications.

One of the representatives of the Politica Journal manager revealed the importance of cooperation between academic institutions and the government in strengthening the governance of scientific journals. “Cooperation between DPR RI and academic institutions such as UMY is very important in ensuring that scientific journals in Indonesia have high standards and can be a source of quality knowledge for the community,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Publication and Journal Strengthening Division, Tri Wulandari Kesetyaningsih, Dr. Drh., M.Kes., welcomed the visit from the Politica Journal Manager and expressed UMY’s commitment to supporting efforts to improve scientific journal governance. “UMY will continue to strive to improve the quality of scientific journals published and is ready to work with various parties to achieve this goal,” she said.
This activity was carried out as a means of learning and developing Politica Journal governance for the better.

This visit discussed at least 3 important points such as 1) the experience of the UMY International Relations Journal in managing its journals, 2) adaptive and credible Scientific Journal Governance, and 3) improving the quality of governance of national and international accredited scientific journals.

Not only discussing these three points in this activity there are some tips for managing scientific journals that are usually applied at the Research and Innovation Institute of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta.

In addition, of course, this visit aims to increase cooperation between the two institutions in terms of improving the governance of scientific journals in Indonesia. With good collaboration between institutions, it is hoped that more quality scientific journals can be realized and contribute significantly to the development of science and technology in the country.
