UMY Ranks Among the Top 25 Universities for Scientific Output in E-Government, Open Data, and Social Media in Scopus (2014–2023)
Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) has successfully entered the list of Top 25 Universities by Scholarly Output E-Government; Open Data; Social Media 2014-2023 in Scopus. This achievement refers to the list of the top 25 universities worldwide that produce the most significant academic publications in three main fields, namely e-government, open data, and social media, from 2014 to 2023. This data is based on the Scopus database, which includes high-quality journals, conference proceedings, and research articles. This confirms UMY’s focus on academic productivity (scholarly output) in themes relevant to information technology, transparency, and digital-based social interaction, which are increasingly important in academic studies and public policy.
Five main aspects are part of this academic contribution. First, conducting a comprehensive analysis of e-government services, including identifying factors that influence their success and failure. Second, investigate how children’s digital access and technology usage patterns can bridge or widen the digital divide. Third, exploring open government data, including governance and strategies, to ensure the sustainability of existing initiatives. Fourth, studying the impact of digital technology on community participation and political processes, especially in increasing public engagement. Fifth, examining the costs and demands related to freedom of information, highlighting transparency and accountability in government entities. These five aspects demonstrate the vital contribution of UMY research in supporting digital innovation and better governance.
Furthermore, strengthening citations in these fields is one of the main factors supporting UMY’s academic reputation at the global level. Citations reflect an appreciation for previous scientific work and strengthen the theoretical and methodological basis of the research conducted. By strengthening citations, researchers can demonstrate their research’s relevance to the latest scientific developments while opening up opportunities for collaboration and recognition in the global academic community. This is crucial in creating impactful and sustainable research and encouraging solid knowledge-based innovation.
