The Necessity of Quality Regional Development Planning, Expert Team of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Presented the Regional Long-Term Development Plan of Gunungkidul Regency for 2025-2045

Yogyakarta (21/3) – Center for Public Policy and Digital Government, Research and Innovation Institute Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, was involved in the coordination meeting of the drafting team of the Regional Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPD) of Gunungkidul Regency for 2025-2045. The meeting was held on Wednesday (20/3) in the Handayani Meeting Room of the Gunungkidul Regional Secretariat. The meeting focused on the discussion of the draft RPJPD of Gunungkidul Regency 2025-2045.

The coordination meeting was attended by a team of experts on the preparation of the Regional Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPD) of Gunungkidul Regency 2025-2045 led by Mrs. Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, M.Si., and expert assistants. The coordination meeting also invited various regional apparatus organizations within the Gunungkidul Regency government. All elements of OPD gathered to provide input and discuss strategic steps that will be taken to achieve sustainable development goals in Gunungkidul Regency.

The Regional Secretary of Gunungkidul Regency in his speech emphasized the importance of preparing RPJPD that accommodates regional potential and competitiveness. “The existing mission is directed at four points that refer to the development mission in the RPJPN and Provincial RPJPD by paying attention to matters that touch people’s lives and emphasizing Gunungkidul’s global competitiveness,” he said. During the meeting, various problems and strategic issues were discussed in depth, including low per capita income, poverty alleviation and inequality, low human resource competitiveness, and declining greenhouse gas emission intensity towards net zero emission.

The Regional Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPD) is a planning document containing a description of the objectives of the establishment of the government in the vision, mission, and direction of regional development for the next 20 years. It is hoped that this coordination meeting can achieve some of the targets formulated. This coordination meeting ran dynamically because all elements of the regional apparatus were involved in interactive discussions.

In particular, input from various regional apparatus organizations became input material that the regional long-term development plan of Gunungkidul Regency for 2025-2045 could answer the challenges of the changing times ahead. So that in the future Gunungkidul Regency can be more superior, prosperous, and globally competitive.
