Improvement of the Quality of International Scientific Journal Management, Lemdiklat Polri Comparative Study to Research and Innovation Institute

Yogyakarta (19/02) – Research and Innovation Innovation Institute Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta received a working visit from the Indonesian Police Education and Training Institute (Lemdiklat) in a comparative study of international journal publication management. This activity took place on Monday (19/2) at the Library Office of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This activity was held in order to strengthen preparations for accreditation towards excellence from the Police Academy. The police academy strives to develop the quality of management of scientific publications and journals.

Comparative Study of Lemdiklat Polri to Research and Innovation Institute

This comparative study aims to share experiences in managing journals ranging from efficient management of scientific journals, increasing the quantity and quality of accredited scientific journal services, and tips on achieving scopus indexed international journal accreditation, This activity was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ir. Sukamta, S.T., M.T., IPM. Asean, Eng., Head of Research and Innovation Institute Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, M.Si., Head of Research Strengthening Division apt. Sabtanti Harimurti, M.Si., Ph.D., Head of Publication and Journal Strengthening Division Dr. Tri Wulandari Kesetyaningsih, M.Kes. Dean of the Faculty of Law Prof. Iwan Satriawan, Ph.D., Editor in Chief of the Journal of Robotics and Control (JRC) Dr. Iswanto, S.T., M.Eng., IPM, Journal Managers at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and nine representatives of the Indonesian Police Education and Training (Lemdiklat).

Prof. Dr. Ir. Sukamta, ST, MT, IPM. Asean, Eng., in his remarks welcomed the representatives of the Indonesian Police Education and Training Institute (Lemdiklat) and said that this meeting was an arena for learning together, exchanging information, uniqueness, character, and work culture with high integrity. In addition, through his remarks, he hopes that in the future we can collaborate in terms of conferences, research, and downstream innovation products.

Management of Scopus-accredited international scientific journal publications requires good teamwork between the Editor in Chief and his staff. As is known, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta certainly has a good management system for the publication of national and international accredited scientific journals. The meeting between the two institutions is expected to provide new insights and knowledge for journal managers at Lemdiklat Polri, especially related to human resource capacity building.

Thus, it is expected that the quality of scientific journal publications managed by the Indonesian National Police Education and Training Institute (Lemdiklat) will improve. Increased management is also to support the academic quality of the National Police Education and Training Institute (Lemdiklat). In the future, the intensity of collaboration between Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and Lemdiklat Polri can be even better with increased cooperation in the field of strengthening publications and downstream excellent products between the two institutions.
